JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, the Logistics Associate will assist in the management of the supply chain operations, including but not limited to, completing accurate boarder crossing paperwork, tracking of shipments, communication with customers and third-party services, and to ensure finished product moves efficiently and cost effectively from Hendriks to the end customer.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Logistics Associate

  • Obtain and negotiate pricing from logistics providers
  • Complete and submit export declarations in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor materials transported and resolve any roadblocks
  • Routing and booking trucks with an understanding of truck capacity and sending load confirmations
  • Working knowledge with HS / Tariff codes
  • Main contact for driver issues, and changes
  • Assist with managing truck repairs and maintenance
  • Manage excel and word documents, keeping all driver / truck paperwork organized and up-to date
  • Assist with truck loading, if required
  • Willingness to help in other departments
  • Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Production Scheduler:

  • Managing internal manpower and production schedules; resolving scheduling conflicts
  • Manage master vacation schedule tracking
  • Schedule outsourced manpower to satisfy peak seasons
  • Review and approve billing for outsourced manpower
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve data transfer and improve the flow of production orders.
  • Provide feedback and assistance to the Assistant Production Manager
  • Load workstations to maximize utilization and efficiencies
  • Plan and schedule live goods / hard goods to accommodate production schedule
  • Collaborate with leadership ensuring on time deliveries
  • Perform monthly safety audits and provide feedback to the Health and Safety committee

QULIFICATIONS:

  • Post secondary diploma/degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • 2 years experience within a logistics environment, including customs documentation (FDA and APHIS)
  • Software and supply chain knowledge
  • Eagerness to learn and assist in implementing process improvements
  • Familiar with purchase orders and bills of lading, processing invoices, credits and refunds
  • Familiar with IFTA regulations and tracking
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and extended hours during peak seasons
  • Critical thinking/Problem solving skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Time Management: Prioritizing your day and ensuring all tasks are completed on time
  • Multitasking: Ability to switch tasks multiple times with ease
  • Strong communication in English: Written and verbal
